Main Criteria for Organic Certification
Requirements to qualify for Qualité France organic certification and Cosmébio labeling:
95% or more of the final product (including water) uses natural or naturally derived ingredients.
95% or more of the botanical ingredients are organic.
10% or more of the product consists of organic ingredients. (Because ingredients such as water, seaweed, and salt are not included in organic certification, 10% or more of ingredients in the product must be organic)
All ingredients and content of organic ingredients must be indicated on the product label.
Ingredients do not include prohibited chemical substances, such as genetically altered substances, irradiated substances, synthetic perfumes, synthetic dyes, synthetic preservatives such as paraben and phenoxyethanol, or petrochemicals (paraffin, silicon, PEG).
Consideration is taken for nature in all processes of manufacturing, such as retaining nature’s balance and prohibiting animal testing.
Packaging materials are recyclable or biodegradable.
Synthetic dyes and synthetic perfumes are not used.
About ECOCERT organic certification:

About JAS mark organic certifictation:
The organic Japanese Agricultural Standard JAS logo represents the sun, clouds and plants.
Only products that have cleared the JAS standards established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries can obtain the JAS organic logo that certifies the product is organic. Products coming from soil harvested for more than 3 years without pesticides or agricultural chemicals can apply to be organic.
This tea goes one step further than the JAS standards, from the tea garden to the end of the tea making, it has been elaborated without any pesticides and chemical substances.
